A groundbreaking tactic in the ongoing Ukraine conflict has emerged: the first documented instance of an underwater FPV drone successfully destroying a Russian river crossing. This innovative approach showcases the evolving nature of drone warfare and its adaptability to diverse environments.

Initially reported by Tim White, the footage, originating from Telegram, reveals a submerged FPV drone executing a precise attack. The drone, a Shrike Special Edition, a variant designed for amphibious operations, detonated near a makeshift Russian footbridge in the Kharkiv region, effectively dismantling the crossing. This improvised bridge, constructed from large logs, replaced an earlier destroyed road bridge.

Previously showcased by Ukrainian drone expert Serhii Flash, the Shrike Special Edition's underwater capabilities were already known. The drone's ability to submerge, allowing for stealthy deployment in various water bodies, was initially perceived as a new form of ambush tactic. This latest video, however, demonstrates its effectiveness in a more direct assault.

The Telegram post, credited to the Northern Eagles Battalion of the 151st Motorized Rifle Brigade, features clear visuals of the underwater drone's approach and the subsequent destruction of the enemy crossing. The video clearly highlights the innovative use of submerged drones in military operations, suggesting a significant shift in tactical strategies. The caption succinctly summarizes the event: "Underwater FPV...Destroying an enemy crossing." This incident underlines the escalating creativity and effectiveness of Ukrainian drone deployments.
