Ripple has officially entered SWIFT’s Certified Partner Program, a development confirmed by both the firm’s own partner page and SWIFT’s official directory. By attaining this status, Ripple Treasury now enjoys direct entry to SWIFT’s Alliance Lite2 messaging network, eliminating the need for banks to maintain separate SWIFT infrastructure.
Through the integration, users can also tap into SWIFTRef data directly within the Ripple platform. This grant encompasses IBAN and ABA routing look‑ups, tools that are indispensable for institutions that handle cross‑border transactions on a daily basis.
Beyond SWIFT connectivity, Ripple Treasury continues to support a variety of other links, including EBICS, SFTP, and a suite of APIs, as well as alternative networks. The result is a unified payments hub that furnishes financial entities with both traditional and blockchain‑based rails under a single roof.
The partnership positions Ripple not as a challenger that intends to supplant SWIFT, but rather as a bridge that unites legacy banking with emerging distributed‑ledger technology. Consequently, banks are no longer forced to choose between an old‑world system and a new‑world solution; they can now operate both through a common interface.
With SWIFT processing approximately $150 trillion in transactions each year, Ripple’s inclusion in the Certified Partner Program underscores the blockchain firm’s long‑term strategy to become a central player in institutional payments, offering a seamless blend of conventional and innovative financial infrastructure.
