The cryptocurrency market is currently witnessing a period of dynamic activity, marked by MYX Finance's extraordinary 280% daily surge, while Bitcoin cautiously approaches the significant $113,000 milestone. Having recently recovered some of its prior losses, Bitcoin successfully surpassed the $113,000 threshold for the first time since Friday. This upward momentum wasn't exclusive to BTC, as numerous altcoins, including prominent large-cap assets such as HYPE, also recorded impressive gains, with HYPE notably achieving a fresh all-time high.
Following a challenging preceding week where Bitcoin repeatedly dipped below the $108,000 mark, market sentiment shifted decisively as bullish forces regained control from Thursday into Friday. This resurgence powered BTC to an impressive weekly peak of $113,400 on Bitstamp, immediately after the latest US jobs report was released. However, this climb was met with swift resistance, triggering a rapid $3,000 retraction in under an hour. The subsequent weekend brought more subdued trading, with Bitcoin consolidating in a narrow band between $110,000 and $111,500. Monday presented renewed bullish attempts as the cryptocurrency challenged $113,000 once more, only to face another $2,000 pullback. Undeterred, buyers mounted a persistent rally, propelling BTC just above $113,200 earlier today. While currently experiencing minor selling pressure, the asset largely maintains its position around the $113,000 level. Its total market capitalization has expanded to $2.250 trillion, according to various internet sources, though its dominance over alternative cryptocurrencies has marginally receded to 56.1%.
Among the top 100 alternative cryptocurrencies, MYX Finance (MYX), a relatively new entrant, emerged as today's most outstanding performer. The asset witnessed an astonishing daily increase of nearly 280%, with its trading price now comfortably above $16. Such triple-digit percentage jumps are, by their nature, uncommon occurrences for assets within this elite group. Following closely, WLD secured the second spot, extending yesterday's gains with an additional 50% surge and briefly touching the $2 mark earlier today before experiencing a slight dip. Other notable gainers included M, SKY, ENA, NEAR, BONK, and PENGU, signaling a broader positive trend across the altcoin spectrum.
