SharpLink, a publicly traded company, significantly expanded its Ethereum holdings with a recent $54 million purchase, acquiring 15,822 ETH. This substantial investment, spread across several transactions, included a single purchase of approximately 6,914 ETH valued at roughly $23.56 million, as reported by Arkham Intelligence. This latest acquisition builds upon a previous purchase of 79,949 ETH just days earlier, solidifying SharpLink's position as the publicly traded entity with the largest Ethereum treasury globally.
Over the past two days, SharpLink's aggressive buying spree has seen them allocate approximately $108 million in USDC to acquire a total of 30,755 ETH, averaging $3,530 per coin. This follows a prior purchase on Thursday, where they invested around $43 million to obtain 11,259 ETH at an average price of $3,828. Their current Ethereum holdings now total approximately 480,031 ETH, representing a staggering value of roughly $1.65 billion based on current market prices.
SharpLink isn't alone in its substantial ETH accumulation. The Ether Machine also recently made headlines with a $56.9 million purchase of 15,000 ETH, averaging $3,809 per coin. This acquisition, timed to coincide with Ethereum's tenth anniversary, propelled The Ether Machine's ETH holdings beyond 334,000, surpassing even the Ethereum Foundation's reserves of 234,000 ETH. This demonstrates a considerable level of confidence in Ethereum's future amongst various major players in the cryptocurrency space. These large-scale purchases highlight the ongoing institutional interest and investment in the Ethereum ecosystem.
