NBCUniversal's Peacock streaming service is raising its subscription prices, effective this week. This price hike affects both the monthly and annual plans, impacting a broad range of subscribers.
Currently, Peacock offers two Premium tiers: a $7.99 monthly/$79.99 annual ad-supported option and a $13.99 monthly/$139.99 annual ad-free option. However, starting July 23rd, the ad-supported Peacock Premium will jump to $10.99 monthly or $109.99 annually, while the ad-free Peacock Premium Plus will cost $16.99 monthly or $169.99 annually. This increase will place Peacock's pricing above that of its major competitors, including Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Paramount+, according to Variety.
Peacock, launched in April 2020, boasts a diverse content library. This includes a significant collection of NBCUniversal programming, encompassing NBC television shows and Universal Pictures films. Beyond its extensive library, Peacock also features original series, movies, and live sports coverage, such as Sunday Night Football, NBA basketball, and the Olympic Games. The price increase will be reflected in subscriber bills, potentially as late as August 22nd, depending on billing cycles.
