TON Foundation: No Official Golden Visa Program

The Open Network (TON) Foundation issued a statement dispelling rumors of an official UAE Golden Visa program linked to TON cryptocurrency staking. The foundation clarified that while an independent initiative exploring such a partnership with a UAE entity is in its nascent stages, it lacks both governmental approval and official backing.

Contrary to earlier reports circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the TON Foundation stressed that no official program offering UAE Golden Visas exists. They emphasized that any future program would be entirely contingent upon the UAE government's authorization and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The foundation explicitly stated that neither a partnership nor any governmental endorsement currently exists.

Initially, a claim appeared on the Toncoin website suggesting a ten-year UAE Golden Visa could be obtained by staking $100,000 worth of TON for three years, plus a $35,000 processing fee. This announcement gained considerable traction, particularly after a retweet from Telegram CEO Pavel Durov. However, this was swiftly countered by the UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security.

The TON Foundation's statement serves to correct misinformation and underscore that the UAE government hasn't endorsed any Golden Visa program tied to TON cryptocurrency. The foundation's support for the UAE's joint statement on this matter further reinforces its commitment to transparency and accurate information dissemination. The ongoing exploratory talks with a partner remain subject to the UAE's ultimate decision and regulatory framework.
