Tragedy struck the football world with the sudden death of Diogo Jota, the Liverpool forward, in a car accident in Spain. The 28-year-old Portuguese international, along with his 26-year-old brother André Silva, perished when their vehicle veered off the road in the Zamora province.

The accident, which occurred around midnight Central European Time on Wednesday (6 PM ET), is still under investigation. Preliminary police reports suggest a tire puncture on their Lamborghini during an overtaking maneuver caused the driver to lose control.
